Student get to learn about the benefits of Laughter on World's Laughter Day & urged others to practice

The founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement, Mr. Kataria once rightly quoted, “Positive and powerful emotions have all the ingredients required to change themselves and the world in a positive and peaceful way.”

To make this practice a good habit, the young minds of the Global Indian International School (GIIS), Smart Campus Balewadi celebrated World's Laughter Day on 3rd May 2021 to spread positivity during these tough times.

The World Laughter Day is an annual event celebrated annually at GIIS to raise awareness about laughter and its many healing benefits. And about thousands of community groups across the globe also practice it to promote wellness and overall well-being.

During the special workshop conducted virtually, the key benefit of laughter was also explained to them as it helps in producing a general sense of well-being, acts as a natural painkiller, boosts T-cells, improves cardiac health, reduces stress hormone levels, besides helping in maintaining the blood pressure. A small video and PowerPoint Presentation based on Laughter Day was also shown to make them understand the benefit in a better way.

The small wonder were also asked to take this day as an opportunity to teach themselves how to laugh at oneself properly. As most of us take ourselves too seriously and learning to laugh at oneself enables an individual to be more vulnerable and more authentic – and both are great traits to have.

At the end of the session, students practiced the laughter yoga exercise with their classmates, and it was quite fascinating to them as they really enjoyed the laughter exercise.
