The Primary section Annual Day 'Utopia- A Musical Journey' was held at GIIS Balewadi on 2nd March 2022. Held virtually, the annual day turned out to be the perfect platform for students to showcase their talents. It proved to be an opportunity for experiencing teamwork amongst students who were eagerly waiting for the day.

The Guest of Honour for the event was Ms Vaishali Borde, Head- GMP and Co-scholastics. The programme started with the Lighting of Lamp by Ms Vaishali Borde which was followed by a speech from Dr N. K.P. Ashok Raj, Principal, GIIS Smart Campus Balewadi.

After the speech, it was time for the welcome song which set the rhythm for the evening. After the welcome song, the students performed the Jungle Book dance in which they dressed up as animals of the jungle and danced on the Jungle Book title song in Hindi which is popularly known as 'Jungle jungle pata chala hai, chaddi pehen ke phool khila hai'. This was followed by the Ghatotkch Dance which kept everyone glued to their screens. (Ghatotkch is a mythological character in Mahabharata).

Creativity was on display when the young ones took to the stage for the Cindrella dance which was followed by the Book Song.

The students then presented a fashion show in which they dressed up in traditional dresses and did a ramp walk from the comfort of their homes.

After a colourful and engaging fashion show, it was then time for a western dance which was followed by a Qawwali. The students then presented a skit on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

A cultural extravaganza followed as students presented a folk dance called Bihu which is an indigenous folk dance from the Indian state of Assam related to the Bihu festival and an important part of Assamese culture.

It was then time for a Lavani dance as children dressed in a traditional Maharashtrian dress took centre stage.

The mime act titled Maa was the closing act of the day after which the Vote Of Thanks was given.

The annual day turned out to be a memorable function that everyone enjoyed. It brought a sense of achievement to all.
