Dear Parent,

Hope you all are safe and taking necessary precautions including vaccination. Let’s all adhere to government guidelines and take care of our near and dear ones.

Tougher times do stretch us beyond our limits but it doesn’t last if we can show the resolve, take necessary precautions and avoid unnecessary risk. Covid appropriate behaviour will save us today and secure our future.

Well, in April, the new session for the students of Grade 10th (Academic Year 2021-22) began on a positive note, providing them with an extra edge in terms of starting their preparations early on. For other grades, the current session, which commenced on 7th April will go on for a month till 7th May 2021. We have a summer break from 8th May till 6th June 2021. During this time, I would like to request all our students to stay at home and enjoy a break from a virtual school. I would personally thank all the parents, students & teachers for making this virtual class a huge success by winning several awards & accolades and making us feel proud of their achievement at the beginning of the new academic journey. In fact, there is no second thought about it that our students, parents, and teachers who are the biggest ambassadors of the excellent work being done at GIIS.

It was indeed a fulfilling moment for us as one of our students, Riya Mukherjee, of Grade 5B secured 7th Rank in the National Coding Olympiad Junior (NCO Jr.) conducted by Wissenaire IIT Bhubaneswar in collaboration with Super teacher and made us proud with her achievement.

Likewise, a team from Grade 5 also secured first place in the Inter-GIIS Global Student Exchange Competition with their extraordinary performance, and we congratulate Arjun Joshi (5A), Drishya Harwan (5A), Vedant Dali (5A), Dhruuv Narsingani (5B), Vidhi Bidwe (5B ) for this great achievement.

Several other activities were also conducted in April such as Earth Day, National Heritage Day, and Kindergarten Day among others. Concepts of Big & Small objects were introduced to Pre-Primary kids through virtual class in an interesting way, which received a lot of appreciation from parents.

I am delighted to also share that we have over 500 new students who have joined our growing GIIS family, giving us a strong reason to be happy as we see more parents entrusting us to provide the best education to their kids. For all the new joiners and our existing students as well, a special Orientation Session was arranged to familiarize them with the GIIS system, and the annual plan of academic and co-curricular activities was also showcased.

We strongly encourage all our students to utilize their summer break meaningfully by taking up the project assigned by their respective teachers sincerely. I appeal that they should utilize this time to innovate and create by sharpening their skills in varied fields of their interest. Always remember, a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. So, do indulge in physical exercise daily, and above all learn to appreciate and be grateful for everything you have.

Lastly, I would like to share that we’ve seen hope in the form of a vaccine, so let's pray that we will all be able to come and meet together physically at our GIIS campus during the year.
