MUNCHKINS OF GIIS BALEWADI CELEBRATE MAKAR SANKRANTI

As diverse as our country India is, its imperative to cultivate the rich culture and heritage into the hearts of our young minds. India is a nation of color, festivities, vibrancy and celebrations.  If one state celebrates a festival in part of the country, the reverberations are heard all over. So are the values of Global Indian International School. It promotes and integrates holistic, comprehensive and integrated education in the future leaders of our country.

January 14th of every year is celebrated nationwide by the farmers of the country. It is celebrated as Makar Sankranti in UP and Bihar, Lohri in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarayan in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. Every state celebrates the harvest season in its own special ways, and to rejoice and thank mother nature for giving food to relish and enjoy.

Our GMP segment celebrated Makar Sankranti with great zeal. With high spirits of festivity, children came dressed in ethnic attires and made til-Gul ladoos with help of their teachers. They learned that Makar Sankranti brings a change in the season for farmers who welcome the new season of spring by harvesting their crops. It was a moment to cherish for kids as they shared the sweets made with the school staff, teachers, and Principal sir. Their happiness knows no bounds when celebrating a festival extravagantly. That’s what festivals and great education do- they bring everyone together and make time a treasure to adore.
