The 76th Independence Day was celebrated with pride and honour at GIIS Smart Campus Balewadi on Monday, 15th August 2022. The chief guest for the flag hoisting ceremony was Ms. Aayushi Sanadhya, first batch Grade 10 topper.

The flag hoisting took place at 8:30 am followed by the national anthem.

The rest of the programme was conducted online as all students attended the programme from home.

The event started with the speech of Dr N. K.P. Ashok Raj, Principal, GIIS SMART Campus Balewadi.

Then it was time for a speech in Hindi by a student of the secondary section. After the Hindi speech, Primary Students from Grade 1-5 took over and presented a Patriotic Mash-up dance which left the audience glued to their screens.

Later, an English speech was delivered followed by a patriotic song which was sung by the Secondary section students.

After the song, the speech in Marathi was delivered. The topic for all speeches was ‘The development in areas of Agriculture, Industrial production, Women empowerment from 1947 – 2022.

The event concluded with a patriotic song which was sung by a few teachers from the Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary sections respectively.
