GIIS Balewadi students learn how to Conserve Water as part of the iCare initiative

The Pre-primary students of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Smart Campus Balewadi introduced water conservation practices in order to reduce unnecessary water usage and demonstrated how we can efficiently use water by following different measures. Water conservation practice is important because freshwater is a limited resource and one must acknowledge this and practice to conserve water.

The teachers introduced several ways to conserve water through various activities. These water conservation activities helped kids learn and understand the importance of water conservation at an early age which will further help them develop lifelong water-saving habits.

During the dedicated session for water conservation, students were sensitized about rainwater conservation through a (PPT) PowerPoint Presentation, and they were taught about basic practice one must follow to avoid wastage of water during brushing our teeth and while taking shower too.

Having a varied terrain, our country poses a challenging prospect when it comes to water usage and water conservation, and one particular solution is thus not implemented in different regions of the country. However, advanced technology can provide ready solutions. But sometimes traditional time-testing practices of conservation can fulfill the requirements of people in much more effective ways.

The little ones have also been enlightened about other sources of water available apart from the tap water. It was indeed a wonderful session for the little water warriors and they even promised during the session to conserve water and teach others to follow the same practice at home.

At last, the little champs also showcased their projects based on water conservation with the use of chart paper, colour pencil art and paper plates.

These kinds of novel projects that not only teach students about scientific ways but also bring something amazing to the planet and nation are worth teaching.
