Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi celebrated in a Unique Way

Global Indian International School (GIIS) celebrated Gandhi Jayanti to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a pioneer of Non-violence and Truth, and the day was also observed as UN Non-Violence Day across the globe.

On the occasion, GIIS Balewadi teachers organized several activities virtually and celebrated Gandhi Jayanti to commemorate his birth anniversary along with the kids in a special manner. The students paid homage and began the event with Gandhiji's favorite song 'Raghupati Raghava' highlighting his values of nonviolence, truth, love, friendship, Integrity, Tolerance in a unique way.

Meanwhile, students from all campuses participated whole-heartedly to dedicated a letter to Bapu which revolves around his seven values and principals in the form of 9 Gems. Through heartfelt messages, the entire GIIS family encourages the world to think about how wonderful the world would be if each of his values were preached and practiced by everyone. Besides academics and other activities for a child's overall development, GIIS keeps an equal focus on instilling values amongst its students through several organized events. The values preached by Gandhi Ji make a core part of its learning framework at GIIS.

Teachers also presented a PPT to our little ones to educate them about Gandhiji through his life story and also made them understand the key motive behind Gandhiji's three monkeys. GIIS students from Pre-primary to Grade 9 participated whole-heartedly in several activities organised by the teachers. These included storytelling sessions, charkha-making activity, collage competition, essay competition, among many others, that were based on Gandhian ideologies and his life-lessons. These engaging activities were smoothly conducted through a virtual platform with the key objective to imbibe in our students the universal values and principles which are still relevant. And to make this event a success, GIIS parents equally participated along with their kids and helped them to dress them up like Gandhi Ji during the virtual celebration and for this GIIS is thankful to all the parents for their proactive participation.

The pre-primary teachers of GIIS Balewadi also paid homage to Gandhi Ji in a very special way to commemorate his 151st birth anniversary celebrations. The teachers also celebrated virtually through a zoom call by dedicating a soulful performance on Bapu's favorite song 'Vaishnav Jan to.' The teachers emphasized the significance of the day by conveying messages of truth, non-violence, love, unity, and integrity. A sense of patriotism filled the air as they sang Baapu's favorite bhajans. Let's have a look at the heartfelt performance our teachers dedicated to Gandhi Ji.
