An enriching i-Care activity day for the tiny tots

In the pre-primary wing of GIobal Indian International School (GIIS) Smart Campus Balewadi, the teachers organized an i-care activity to educate the little ones about the ill effects of pollution and how they impact the quality of natural resources they use on a daily basis.

The students were taught about various factors responsible for the rising pollution levels and how they harm the environment. The key objective was to make them a responsible human through their efforts, beginning from their home. During the session, the tiny tots from K1 and K2 came forward to share their thoughts on how to save our Mother Earth while conserving the natural resources, save trees by swearing to plant more, and restore the balance of nature. The major objective behind conducting this session was to make them understand the value of nature and how important it is for the continuity of life.

An interactive session was also organized for the students to discuss about various ways of protecting the mother Earth from rising pollution levels. During the session, the young minds were also educated on various ways of conserving electricity, water, and other natural resources.

A detailed powerpoint presentation on the theme was also shared with the students to educate them on our actions that are polluting the environment. The idea was to help them be aware of their actions/habits that are causing more harm than good; the concept of carbon footprint was explained and ways of reducing and eliminating the same were shared. The tiny tots were also asked to talk about the subject with other people and sensitize them to contribute to the welfare of the nature.

Lastly, a craft session was organized where each child created hand-made eco-friendly bags by making use of old newspapers available at home. The day full of enriching lessons and engaging activities concluded with the little ones pledging to make our Mother Earth pollution free by educating their near and dear ones, and by rectifying their habits that may have contributed to the increase in any form.
