A joyful July for GIIS Balewadi loaded with activities and achievements

Dear Parents,

Warm Greetings!

We hope you and your families continue to remain safe and healthy.

The month of July was truly a joyful one. From couple of student achievements to a super eventful month with plethora of activities and new initiatives, it had been a great month in all respect.

To start with, the teachers were given subject specific and Apple training so that they can explore various tools that can be used to improve classroom experiences. It also helped them to look at other aspects of pedagogy that will help in building skills and conceptual understanding for our students.

Once again our students have made us proud with their accomplishments in various fields.

The key highlight had been the notable results of the first batch of our Class X, achieving 100% pass percentage and 60% of the batch scoring above 80% aggregate marks. The top rank holder Aayushi Sanadhya scored 95.6% and has been covered in Honours roll in Times of India.

Dhruv Narsingani from Grade 5B secured 1st position in the Swar Shankar? Inter-School Solo singing competition organised by Indira National School, Wakad, Pune. The competition witnessed the presence of 99 participants from 22 schools.

Likewise, we are immensely happy to share that one of our bright student, Pruthviraj Mahadev Munde from Grade 5A has secured ‘1st Position’ in the International Online Abacus Olympiad (IOA) 202, which was held on 18th July '21. Heartiest congratulations to Pruthviraj for his remarkable feat among 15000 students who had participated from across the globe.

In terms of activities, National Doctors Day was observed on 1st July'21 and the unwavering contribution & sacrifice of doctors throughout the pandemic was recollected and highlighted through a bouquet of activities.

As a part of activity-based learning, during the Thinking Thursday Activity, teachers had planned a dedicated session for a science experiment called 'What Absorbs Water' for the Pre-primary students. The Junior Kindergarten students were demonstrated seed germination process under the monthly theme of plantation and restoration of nature. They also learned about water conservation practices in order to reduce unnecessary water usage and were also explained how we can efficiently use water by adopting small yet impactful activities.

During the month students & parents also participated with great enthusiasm in story-telling sessions, and narrated stories using props and doing a role-play, while concluding with a ‘moral value’ as the key takeaway from the story.

The month overall concluded with lot of learning activities that were enriching and fruitful for both teachers and the students across all segments. GIIS truly believes that the finest education of a child comes from the understanding of the real world they live in, and we shall continue living upto this belief.

I am sure our teachers will continue making best efforts to ensure the teaching-learning process is as comfortable and interesting as possible for our beloved students. Eagerly looking forward to more eventful months going forward.

I sincerely request everyone to strictly adhere to the government guidelines. Stay safe!

Warm Regards,

Dr. N. K.P. Ashok Raj,
