Greetings for the day!
We are a month into the year 2021. This is the year of new hopes.
It was a wonderful start to February as we received the delightful news of our students and teachers being felicitated by the Singapore Kindness Movement for ‘All rounded Projects’ for the year 2020. It was a proud moment for all of us at Global Indian International School. Through various initiatives such as Food donation drives, writing poems and making posters in Gratitude to Frontline Heroes, International nurses day celebration, kindness circles etc., our teachers have worked hard to inculcate the importance of being kind. As it is rightly said, the best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today and we are preparing our students to be the ‘kindness’ ambassadors of today and tomorrow.
Of many firsts, we also successfully hosted the first virtual ‘Weave-a-tale’ competition, an annual inter-school story-telling competition for kindergarten to Grade 5. The confidence of the students in presenting their stories, the props and the overall video presentation were note-worthy. The live stream was a webcast for parents and students. We believe that such competitions inspire and motivate students to do their best.
We celebrated the Chinese New Year with students dressed in their finest red. Such festivities add a charm to our daily school routine.
Normalcy – the much-awaited feeling in the year 2020, is now getting stronger. Exams, classes and activities are in full swing. With safe distancing measures and masks and sanitisers in tow, we are carrying on in full spirit.
As we approach the academic year’s end, we look back at the leaps and bounds our students have taken towards success. Through various activities and events, academics and extracurricular, our students have strived hard to be the better version of themselves. Our teachers have guided and supported them every step of the way, be it virtual or in the physical class.
A big thank you to the support given by our parents and all those who have made this challenging academic year a success!
Warm regards!
