Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inspires students to excel

India's Minister of State for Home Affairs Mr Kiren Rijiju visited the GIIS SMART Campus in January 2019, for the Leadership Lecture Series and held an inspiring session which was conducted in the Hindi language.

Mr Kiren Rijiju was accompanied by Mr Jawed Ashraf, the High Commissioner of India to Singapore. The event kicked off with a welcome speech by emcees, followed by a poem recitation, song by choir and a skit on the theme of Swachh Bharat, all in the Hindi language.

Mr Rijiju addressed the students and expressed great appreciation for GIIS SMART Campus and its world-class infrastructure. He said that “students of GIIS are fortunate to study in one of the finest schools on the planet.”

The honourable minister referred to the students sitting there as the future of the world and laid high hopes on them for making India proud by becoming a role model. He added that “Indians have no dearth of capability and potential to survive and thrive in any condition, and the world looks up to them with high regard.”

The event came to end with Mr Atul Temurnikar, the chairman of GIIS, honouring Mr Rijiju with a memento and taking his signature on the LLS guest book. Later, Mr Rijiju visited the classrooms and the Gandhi Centre in the campus.

This series of LLS was a great attempt by the students to display their stronghold on Hindi language and show their respect for the language.
