We are already in the third decade of the 21st century, and times are changing at an unprecedented rate. Exciting as this pays for all the opportunities available that our fingertips it's also a bit scary because of the exact same reason. For this generation, the sheer number of possibilities outweigh the dreams and aspirations that students harbour. For instance, many may be good at academics but are still unsure of what they want to study in university. Many others may be good at sports or art or have a skill that is unique to them but is not exactly aware of how to use this talent to their advantage in the future. And this is exactly why GIIS has introduced the GIIS Parent Ambassador Webinar series which allows our students to get advice from the one person everyone trusts most when in doubt, the parent.
GIIS had the privilege of talking to Mr Venkat Chandramoleshwar of Google's Global Partnerships team. He gave tips and advice on how to choose the right career path in the future.
He started off by sharing with the audience his dreams and aspirations when he was young. Starting from dreaming about being a bus conductor to enhancing and polishing his dream to work in the automotive industry. Thus his journey to Google began. He said that every person has their own journey and we must not follow someone successful persons path but create our own by taking inspiration from them. No path is right or wrong. He gave an overview of what kind of careers one can expect at Google in the present day.
Mr Venkat has quite a few educational qualifications. After doing a bachelor’s degree, he did his masters and then pursued an MBA. He then continued to speak about his various employment experiences and what all he learned at each company until he joined Google. He continued talking about the various career paths one can traverse on at Google. He explained each and every path in-depth and made the audience understand the kind og background that is required and what kind of work will be involved.
Everyone dream of working at Google and having such insights from such an experienced professional is truly a boon.
