SMART Campus students participate in inter-school 'Weave-a-Tale' competition

There is an old saying  "Those who tell stories rule the world". This saying came alive when our students of Kindergarten and Primary weaved wonderful stories and ruled the heart of their viewers in the most awaited annual storytelling competition, “The Weave-a-tale”.

Weave-a-Tale storytelling presentation was conducted on 2nd February 2021 for Kindergarten and on 4th February 2021 for Primary students, with GIIS SMART Campus hosting the event virtually for the first time. It is an annual inter-school storytelling competition. The competition for Kindergarten was conducted between GIIS SMART Campus, GIIS East Coast Campus and Yuvabharathi International School, whereas for primary, it was between the two GIIS campuses.

Stories create magic and a sense of wonder at the world. Stories teach us about life, about ourselves and others. Storytelling is a unique way for students to develop an understanding, respect and appreciation for other cultures, and can promote a positive attitude to people from different lands, races, and religions.

Storytelling is an art and the students present their stories confidently, focusing on their tempo, diction, vocal and facial expressions and the overall presentation. Some even used props to support their story narration. As they weaved their stories, interesting activities such as guessing stories with visuals provided, guessing the moral of the story and rebus sentences made the event engaging for participants.

The students enjoyed themselves thoroughly and learned a lot from each other. COVID-19 pandemic has not deterred GIIS from conducting such competitions and keep the learning process going on for our young stars.
