The Freedom Movement of India@75 Quiz was held between 19 to 23 April 2021 for CBSE classes 6-10. The students were quizzed on the various historic events that took place during the Indian Independence Movement from 1857 to 1947 with the ultimate goal of ending British rule.
India will celebrate its 75th year of independence on August 15, 2022. A huge milestone for the country and the citizens. On 12 March 2021, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the celebration for India@75 - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
India@75 is a path-breaking initiative. It envisions how India should be in its 75th year of independence and seeks to bring together all stakeholders including the industry, government, institutions, community groups and individuals to translate the vision into a reality.
The High Commission of India in Singapore urged the various schools to participate in this initiative by conducting activities to make students aware of the freedom movement apart from their book knowledge and support the India@75 initiative. As part of the pilot process, the schools had to conduct a Quiz Contest among the students at different class levels during the third week of April 2021.
The Kahoot Quiz was conducted in the student’s Social Science class. The different sections of each grade connected virtually to participate. The students were very excited to participate and showed great enthusiasm. They portrayed knowledge from what they studied in class but also did a lot of research from outside sources to prepare for the quiz.
This initiative was a great learning opportunity and a reminder for our students to respect the contributions made by our leaders and freedom fighters for India’s Independence. Students are also reminded of their responsibilities towards the nation and not take this freedom for granted. The students pledged to respect the legacy our leaders left us with and contribute in whatever small or big way they can towards a united and progressive India.
There will be many more events and activities conducted throughout the year to pay tribute to and participate in the India@75 initiative.
