The students of GIIS SMART Campus 10 IGCSE B, Sharanya Biswas and Saachi Tekkad, conducted a Food Donation Drive on the 29th and 30th of November, aimed at helping the senior citizens of the country residing in old age homes. 

The students found that old age homes were in need of various necessary items and after thorough research discovered the THK nursing home. Working closely with the organisation, the team comprised of the students as well as teachers and coordinators, were able to procure a list of items deemed necessary by the elderly community in residence. 

The team got together to collect these donations from the whole school, having collected up to about 5 to 6 bags full of food and other necessities. The donations were then successfully delivered to the THK nursing home, with the student team receiving much appreciation from the elderly community. 

GIIS has always inculcated in the students, the importance of caring for and giving back to the community. Through initiatives like this, the students get an opportunity to serve the society they live in, while also learning valuable lessons on community care and good morals.
