The PYP students of GIIS SMART Campus celebrated Art Week, to promote the significance and beauty of various art forms in the world. 

To honour visual arts, the students studied art pieces by famous artists like Pacita Abad and Yayoi Kusama and created art of their own, while trying to incorporate the style and uniqueness of the artists. Honouring music, the students interacted with professionals in the field and learnt about the numerous intricacies of the art form. A virtual Q&A session was also held through which the students could understand the art better and in-depth. The students also learnt about different dance forms across the globe and how dance can be used to communicate with the audience and narrate stories.

The Art Week was a successful event as the students could educate themselves on the various art forms while also learning about its history, intricacies as well as its benefits like increased concentration, confidence and even cognitive ad critical thinking. The 9GEMS pedagogy that GIIS follows has always believed in giving the students an insight into the world outside of textbooks and such events like the Art Week is a great way to instil an all rounded educational experience for each and every student.
