GIIS SMART Campus chess teams emerge victorious at the National Inter-School Team Chess Championship 2022

In an impressive feat, three chess teams representing GIIS SMART Campus have brought glory to the name of the school by winning several titles in the 63rd National Inter-School Team Chess Championships 2022. The annual championship was organised by the Singapore Chess Federation between Sept 3 and Sept 6, 2022. and saw teams from various international schools compete against each other.

 

Two teams from the GIIS SMART Campus have showcased their prowess in the game by winning 1st position, and one team has won 3rd position at the international school level. The Under 9 team with players including; Shreyas Neeraj Kurulkar from CBSE Grade 3, Arjun Mohanram from CBSE Grade 3, Vakul Ujjini from CBSE Grade 2, and Akshaj Dodrajka from PYP 4 won the 3rd position in the International school level.

 

On the other hand, the Under 11 team consisting of players; Haresh Venkata Narayanaswamy from PYP 5, Nivaan Khandhadia from CBSE 5, Shrenik Mallick from CBSE 6, and Vidhyanth Hafiz from CBSE 5 won the first position in the international school level and overall 3rd position. The secondary open team with four players including; Aditya Dongre from IBDP Year 1, Dhanesh Venkata Narayanaswamy from IGCSE 10, Nagesh Rishicharan from IBDP Year 1, and Vinesh Venkata Narayanaswamy from CLSP 7 won the first position in the international school and overall third position.
