GIIS cricket team wins Bronze in U-14 ACSIS Tournament

GIIS SMART Campus cricket team won the bronze medal at Under-14 tournament organised by the Athletic Conference of Singapore International Schools. The tournament was held during September and November 2018, at various locations in Singapore. The SMART Campus team played all its matches at the East Coast Campus cricket ground.

The bronze medal comes as a tremendous victory for GIIS as the team has recently enrolled 12 new players who played their first match against external teams in the U-14 category.

The new team members were from Grade 7 to 9 and they played remarkably well to secure the medal, championing three wins and a tie. It was an impressive feat with overall great batting and bowling by the upcoming cricketers.

Standout performances were given by batsmen, Aaryan Modi, Adithya Hari, Pranav. R, and J Kaushal, against Australian International School, NPS International, and UWC East.

Captain Aman Jain and Spinner Ninad Dixit attained three wickets against NPS International and Australian International School, while Medium Pacer, J. Kaushal, bowled brilliantly alongside teammates, Spinner Shlok Nagori, Aryan Jain, and Vihaan Hampillikar. Scoring wickets every time he bowled, Malhar Kulkarni’s golden arm was seen as an unforgettable contribution to the tournament.

Next, GIIS cricket team is gearing up for the upcoming U-12 ACSIS tournament where three of the U-14 players, Aryan, Vihaan and Malhar will be joined by another set of young cricketers to play against external teams. The team is undergoing rigorous training and is all set to bowl over their opponents in the next match.
