Japanese Ambassador Jun Yamazaki visited the GIIS SMART Campus today, interacting with the students from Singapore, Tokyo and other campuses, and praising the school’s effort to provide a multicultural environment for them to excel. 

Ambassador Jun, who is Japan’s representative in Singapore, visited the school’s Design and Technology studio, Culinary Studio, Radio Studio and TV Studio, and talked to students about the activities being held there. The Ambassador spent a lot of time understanding the school facilities, which have been designed keeping in mind benefits to the student community, and their learning journey.

Interacting with two Japanese students at the Radio Studio, Ambassador Jun said the best part about the school was the studios. “I like the Ceramic Studio, which was the best feature because it provided a platform for creativity for students.” He said he was also impressed with the state-of-the-art facilities in the SMART Campus, something that he did not have in his own school. “I wish my school had facilities like these as well.”

Ambassador Jun also got on a Video Conference call with students from One World International School, and GIIS Tokyo. The students shared their learning journey with the Ambassador and informed him about the top class education under experienced teachers that the school provides in a multicultural environment. Students also asked questions about his responsibilities as an Ambassador and requested him to share his own experiences which were highlights of his career. 

The hour-long session gave the Ambassador an insight into the quality education of SMART Campus which is making an impact on the education sector for its ahead-of-the-curve facilities, and embrace of Blended Learning in the time of Covid-19 related social distancing and lockdowns.
