Webinar on Positive Parenting during Pandemic lauded by parents

The spread of the novel COVID-19 has led to several restrictive measures that have had relevant repercussions on the daily life of people, especially that of children who have been deprived of their daily social and outdoor playtime. From meeting friends and teachers every day, parents have now suddenly become their only point of contact.

To keep children engaged and occupied at home has become a tedious task for parents who themselves are juggling between their professional and personal chores. To suggest and come up with ways of raising a happy child at home, GIIS Noida organized a webinar on “ Parenting during Pandemic” that offered a new outlook towards parenting in today’s modern world that comes with a lot of uncertainties and anxiety.

The webinar was hosted by Ms. Rachna Jain - Head Mistress, Pre-Primary, and Ms. Deepika Choraria - Teacher, PP along with Ms. Trina Roy who graced the occasion as the guest speaker. Ms. Roy is a passionate trainer and speaker and is a certified trainer from ISTD, Recognized by the Ministry of HRD. Currently, she is working with Scholastic India as a Research Associate.

It was an interactive session that had participants raising questions and sharing their knowledge with the other attendees. Parents had also put up questions on tackling stubborn behaviour of the children especially during today’s time of a pandemic, concerns for their psychological as well as emotional growth, gifting of good learning resources, etc. were also discussed in detail.

The objective of the webinar was to raise awareness among the parents about modern parenting and its ways and how they can build up a positive environment for their child at home. The focal areas of the webinar were discussing about various styles of parenting, atomic habits among children and how to set such habits in them, different ways of engaging children indoors, detailed view on the importance of hands-on-learning for children between 2-7 years, blended learning, and much more.
