Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida culminated its 15 days Summer Camp with a grand finale ceremony in the campus that witnessed creativity, persistence and finesse galore. The summer camp began on 15th May, 2019 and ended on 1st June, 2019 and was open for both GIIS and Non-GIIS students.

Summer vacations give students a break from the mundane school life and a chance to relax and rejuvenate oneself by learning something new. This is the time when students wish to pursue a hobby they’ve always wanted to or learn a new skill that adds to their skillset or area of interest. Be it sports, learning a set of new skills, reading books, or just spending some quality time with family and friends really helps children in adding that unique dimension to their personality.

Giving that edge and a perfect way to beat the heat this summer, the summer camp at GIIS Noida was a perfect blend of activities that focussed on holistic development of the students. There were 3 groups according to the age groups and each group had a set of three activities to learn and enjoy every day for fifteen days.

Group A (PP-Grade 2) enjoyed art & drawing, splash pool, dance and drama by Helen O’ Grady; Group B were engaged in edu sports, drama by Helen O’ Grady, and Dance and Group C students enjoyed their camp with edu sports, drama by Helen O’ Grady, and personality development/coding activities.

The grand finale act was a combination of different acts put up by the students from each group; students staged dance performances, enacted stories that taught them moral values, performed yoga asanas with perfection, and shared their views on global issues through an extempore.

Parents of the participating students graced the occasion to witness such an unique and mesmerising portray of the skills learned during the camp. The art and craft materials made by group A students were displayed in the school foyer area for the parents to glance and take back home the pieces their wards made throughout the camp.

This summer camp was a reflection of the Nine Gems framework that focuses on all round development of the students. The activities conducted provided a platform for the students to cultivate new skills and enhance the inherent ones along with goal-setting and making them future ready. The activities were intended to help students learn the skills they will need for college and beyond.
