Shravil Shaklya is from grade IX of the GIIS Noida campus, and was announced as the winner of the prestigious event under the category “DEBATE FOR SCHOOLS”. Shravil participated with several other students across the country and won the competition with his exceptional speech and presentation skills. He had participated in the first round of the competition that was conducted in the month of August along with students from other GIIS campuses. Shravil won the first round along with another student from GIIS Ahmedabad campus.

The selected students got the opportunity to represent GIIS at a national level i.e. the semi-final round that was held on 17th November 2021. Students had to share their views on the topic “WE SHOULD APPLY BRAKES TO BREAKING NEWS”. Shravil Shaklya again won the semi-final round to pave his path to the final round of the competition that was conducted on 21st November 2021.

The topic of the finale was “CRYPTOCURRENCY IS HARMFUL FOR THE NATION”. The best four speakers from the semi-final round competed with each other by brainstorming on this wonderful topic. Shravil Shaklya again showed his excellent expressions, subject knowledge, and exceptional oratory skills and was declared as the winner of this one of its kind national event.

He competed with many renowned schools like Schools of Railways, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodya Schools, Mussoorie Boarding Schools, etc. Shravil Shaklya again proved that GIIS, Noida is not leaving any stone unturned to provide holistic development to its learners.

Sharing about his journey and experience, Shravil said – “ It was a great opportunity for me to be a speaker on such a great pedestal. I am really thankful to Vaishali Borde ma’am, Principal sir, Madhuri ma’am, and my teacher in charge Ms. Sulekha Sharma for guiding me and giving me such great exposure. The journey was not very easy. Starting from school level to semi-finals and then to finals, I just had one goal in my mind that I have to give my best. I was not at all thinking about the prize, but I wanted to prove the worth of my school and of course, I wanted to prove myself. I am very happy to be the winner of this great literature festival. I am equally excited about the lucrative prize money and other mementos. I promise that I will continue the same performance and would prove myself as the true ambassador of GIIS, NOIDA.”

Shravil has also been awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 51,000/-, a certificate and a trophy. Needless to say that many students will now be motivated by his great achievement and would want to try and excel in different genres of learning.
