Paving the Way to Excellence with Experiential Rewards

Research has proved that experiential rewards, irrespective of the industry, offer exciting alternatives, doubles productivity and performance, and add value to the name of the organization thereby creating a lasting impression on the prospect’s mind.

Global Indian International School (GIIS) believes that experiential rewards in student learning can benefit the performance of the children manifolds. To begin with, it offers deeper and lasting connections with the course materials, motivates and promotes learning through critical reflection that ultimately boosts a child’s confidence in achieving the extraordinary.

The 9GEMS framework of GIIS centers on learning beyond academics with an equal focus on sports, skills, and values. By supplementing the 9GEMS with an experiential reward system, GIIS motivates students to evolve and add stars to their personalities.

Naina Madan, a student of grade 4 at GIIS Noida campus, a true devotee of the Indian classical dance, is a perfect example. Here is a sneak peek to her achievements and accolades. In this video, she also shares her experience of learning the Odissi dance form, and how her teachers and mentors at GIIS have constantly guided her to identify her true potential at such a young age.

Another example of the impact of experiential rewards is INTACH where our teachers, students, and parents have benefitted leaps and bounds.

INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) is a non-profit organization working to save the heritage of our country which resonates with the heritage club Dharohar at our campus. Various activities and competitions are conducted for the students and teachers throughout the year that help them in understanding what all constitutes the heritage of our country and what all can we do to preserve it.

The Dharohar club at GIIS Noida works on the same principle of aligning young minds with the long-lost art forms, and subjects that help our students appreciate the rich culture India has been holding within different cities and people.

Let’s hear what the club masters and members have to say about their experience:

“My journey with INTACH is very amazing. I have been associated with it since the day one of me joining GIIS Noida. It has been a very enriching experience so far. I have learnt a lot of new things. I have attended number of workshops along with students. I have prepared students to participate in various types of competitions. I have supported and guided students in making movies for FILMIT festival of INTACH. Fortunately, the students have performed outstandingly well and brought laurels for school by winning various awards”, proudly shares  Ms. Vaishali Singh (INTACH Campus Head)”

Many students, who are a part of the club, have experienced and gained a lot in terms of knowledge and experience that has enriched their thinking and impacted their way of life. One of the students, Inesh Jain, and his mother are all praises for the kind of exposure their association with INTACH has extended.

Inesh Jain of Grade 9, happily insists, “Being a part of INTACH has been a great and novel experience for me. I was always proud of the culture and heritage of my country but being associated with INTACH actually gave me an opportunity to learn about the marvellous and rich heritage and culture of various states of India. My teachers have been really cooperative. They have motivated us throughout. I got a chance to make a movie right here which was yet another learning experience for me and since then l have learnt a lot of editing skills as well, which is really helpful.”

Delighted to see Inesh pursuing his love for India’s heritage and culture, his mother Richa Jain says, “In this era of globalization and new technological advancement, it’s really great to see our children connected to our culture and heritage through INTACH. We are really happy to see him learn so much from his Dharohar club classes, and are grateful to the teachers for keeping the kids engaged in different activities ranging from paintings to making presentations and movies. Hope to see the same zeal in future also.“

Put simply, rewards play an important role in shaping up the personality of a child as they go through the process of learning that adds value to their already existing skill set and knowledge. Upon receiving an award or recognition, the child is motivated to do their best and in the process also encourages their peers to work towards the same.
