Our young learners enjoyed celebrating World Food Day

There is no greater joy than the joy of eating good food.

Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida celebrated World Food Day by conducting a virtual cooking activity for the students of grades 2-5. During this activity, students were asked to cook and present a dish from a particular area/country/region.

Our learners surely had an amazing time gobbling on scrumptious delicacies as they celebrated the day with their classmates; each grade was assigned with a different cuisine like Continental, Indian, Chinese, and Italian. With lots of healthy dishes made at home, our students participated enthusiastically and were excited to share their delicacy with everyone virtually.

The objective of celebrating World Food Day was to educate students about the variety of food and how the same ingredients/vegetables can be used to make various dishes that are unique, delicious, and nutritious at the same time.

A wide variety of food was displayed by our young chefs. All the food items and dishes were loaded with the goodness of vegetables and herbs, were high on nutritional value, and were a treat to the eyes too. The presentation of the food was commendable as each child tastefully presented their dish(es).

This activity not only helped our students in utilizing their creativity to the fullest, and learn life skills like cooking that comes handy, but also increased their knowledge about food, inculcated basic table manners along with making them responsible of their food choices. It also brought a sense of responsibility as they learned the importance and value of food in life.
