Dear Parents,
I am delighted to share that the month of November was an extravaganza of learning, fun, and victories at GIIS Noida. Our students brought laurels home by winning accolades in competitions like the show and tell, GEMPAK VAGANZA organised by GIIS KL where they won multiple awards in various categories. We also got awarded in the education category of the Annual MQH Best Practices Competition 2022.
Experiential learning has always been at forefront for GIIS Noida. To help students learn beyond textbooks and classrooms, adventure sports camp was set up for the pre-primary to grade 5 students of the school; this gave students a chance to experience and learn in a positive and safe environment, gain confidence and build on their self-esteem at the same time. Students from grade 5 onwards were taken on a two-day school trip where they got newer perspective and learnt the art of self-dependence.
We celebrated our students’ achievements in academics and co-curricular activities by hosting academic excellence awards ceremony for grades 3-5. It was a spectacular day to witness children with different calibres and talents being recognized for their strengths and improvements over the last academic year. As an endeavour to solidify the bond of oneness and unification, GIIS Noida celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with an aim of making students aware of the secular vision, the national Government envisions for the new India.
Children’s day celebration was another milestone that made the month of November the most memorable time for the students. The pre-primary wing had special celebrations conducted by the teachers to show their love and affection. To commemorate on a positive note, we also partnered with GAREEB KI GULLAK foundation to provide access to quality medical care across rural and urban parts of India, and I want to thank my pre-primary parents for coming ahead and supporting the cause with open hearts and surplus supplies.
GALS- Global Annual Leadership Summit also added some extra excitement as the school staff and teachers teamed up and presented some amazing ideas which aimed at improving the experiential outcomes for our students, teachers and parents alike.
Lastly, we had two interactive workshops for the senior students of the school; first was conducted for board class students on the topic Positive Wellbeing during examination to apprise students with ways managing routine, exam stress and how to turn negative stress into positive stress by means of an engaging activity. The second workshop was to help grade 8 boys and focused on the emotional, physical and social changes that occur in during adolescence. It emphasized on the influence of peers, and gave the boys a chance to share views on what according to them is a positive and negative peer influence.
The month of December will have more opportunities for the students to grow, evolve and be the best they can be.
Thank you.
Warm Regards,
Ganesh Sharma
