New year greeting from Vice Principal - GIIS Noida

Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us. Last year's words belong to last year's language. And next year's words await another voice.”

Dear Students

Life on this planet is the greatest gift of God and we are privileged to be human with special blessings. Every year we take a resolution to make the New Year effective and end of every year we look back to whether we have followed the resolutions and have made progress.

At times the maximum answer would be yes, I had better opportunities to go for my dreams but I have failed to reach them or I have tried but could not keep up the promise, but the truth is we have not taken much effort. So as we are starting a fresh year let us take a strong decision that I am going to follow up on my important resolutions whatever circumstance I will face with till I achieve them.

Dear students, especially the younger ones, you must be wondering at this early stage of my life what would be my resolutions and what more can I do as a child. But, you can also start with a small act of good deed to make your year 2023 a meaningful one. You can make a resolution to study your lessons well, be regular, be polite, follow instructions, obey your parents and respect your teachers, turn up neatly to school, take part in all activities, etc. a small meaningful promise to yourself will surely take you in the right direction of growth.

For the senior ones and those appearing for their board examinations, I would like to say that you should resolve to never give up even if you are struggling with some subjects, or you find yourself in a course of study that was never your first choice. Instead, make the best use of time and opportunities that are present for you. Learn to do ordinary things exceptionally well. Let me start with the simplest of examples. From drawing a margin in your notebook, writing today’s date every time for your class work, working on your presentation, and tying your shoelace properly, are all indicators of greatness. The point is excellence is a habit. Whatever you do, do it with enthusiasm and as if there is no second chance. When such an attitude becomes a habit there is no end to possibilities. What is mundane and routine becomes ablaze with glory.

Next, you should arm yourself with hope. Fear and worry, anxiety and despair, and feelings of helplessness and hopelessness can cloud your mind anytime. The future has become uncertain like never before. Carefully laid plans are disrupted. Yet, let me remind you never to lose hope but look ahead to comebacks in life, and rise above every setback that life can throw at you. Covid times are the best examples of hope and resilience and how being resilient and hopeful has led mankind to sail through these difficult times.

Lastly, I would like to say be open to change and be willing to learn and add new skill sets to your profile. Always remain curious, try to be creative, and be compassionate towards your fellow beings. Follow discipline in everything you do whether it is in the way you talk, walk in the corridors, communicate with your teachers and peers, or the way you turn up to school. Discipline is the key to success and especially self-discipline, persevere and continue practicing self-discipline every day, and one day you will reap the fruits of your success.

Dear teachers and students, it is the right time to decide upon the best possibilities to mark your dreams come true and it is possible only if you closely follow your decision and make it happen. Do your best and the rest will follow automatically leading you to greater heights in the days to come.

May you have a wonderful year ahead as you walk along achieving everything you have planned. Wishing you all a Happy New Year 2023.

Warm Regards,

Mrignayani Magotra
