Let’s stay strong and positive, we are in this together

Dear Parents,

We all are going through some really tough times, trying our best to fight this pandemic and keeping our family and loved ones safe at home. While we continue to do so for some more time, I would like to thank you all for your constant support. I highly appreciate your efforts and contribution in making this second phase of virtual learning successful. I understand how difficult it must be for you all to juggle between work from home, virtual school, and the mundane challenges of family life. Please accept my sincere thanks, for without your support and faith in us we wouldn’t have made it this far.

We had thought that this year, life will be back to normal and we will soon be welcoming our students to the all-new GIIS Noida campus, that is undergoing a renovation and is near completion. I hope to see my students bubbling in the corridors as they explore the new avatar of the school.

It feels extremely nice while sharing that the campus has undergone a massive makeover with some new additions in facilities for each segment. The existing facilities and numerous learning spaces have also been upgraded to meet the new-age learning requirements for our students. Not just this, we have also introduced a bouquet of new pedagogies and new initiatives that are going to benefit the students manifolds.

Well, we began the new academic year as per schedule with the segment-wise virtual orientation sessions for existing students and parents, and the new ones who have recently joined our growing GIIS family. The sessions focussed on familiarizing the new joinees with the course materials, faculty and the school management, online class rules, learning and navigation through the learning management system, etc. Besides this, numerous activities were conducted across grades in the first week for the students to get in the flow and set up the right tone and expectations for the rest of the academic year ahead.

Health and safety week to teach personal safety and hygiene, earth day celebrations to make students more responsible for their actions towards mother earth, world heritage day celebrations to promote conservation of cultural sites, math magic, GIIS reading month to promote love for reading through an array of activities, etc. were some of the many activities that were conducted for the students to give them a 360-degree learning experience.

Besides these enriching activities, an interactive virtual discussion on ‘Study Abroad - UK Focus’ session for GIIS students (of Grade 11 & 12)  was organized in partnership with Foreign Education Consultants. Our students too, along with students from other GIIS campuses in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Pune, participated in the session to understand their chances of studying in top universities of the United Kingdom. Children, along with their parents got to interact with representatives from various renowned universities who were present to answer their queries related to their higher studies and career.

The month ended with a community outreach program conducted for primary students, to inculcate in them a sense of belongingness and responsibility towards the weaker sections of the society.

With this, we have moved ahead to the month of summer vacation for the students to enjoy, relax, prepare themselves for the future ahead, and most importantly stay home and stay safe.
