‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is an initiative from the Government of India to celebrate 75 years of Independence and the glorious history of the people, culture and achievements of Indians. It’s really important to make our children aware about the significance of sacrifices our leaders and freedom fighters have made for the country. 

In order to spread awareness on the same, Global Indian International School, Noida conducted an Inter-House Dance Competition on patriotic theme for lower Primary level students i.e. Grade 1&2. The programme began with the lamp lighting by the school Principal and was followed by a prayer to invoke blessings of the almighty. The major objective of the gala celebrations was to inculcate a feeling of patriotism and gratitude towards our national leaders who brought us the freedom. 

The inter-house Dance Competition began with a great zeal and enthusiasm with the performance of Sunflower House followed by Orchid House. The third performance was by Hibiscus House followed by Chrysanthemum House. The josh of the children could be seen in high spirits. One performance after the other left the audience spellbound and the excitement of the results was on the edge as everyone was eager to know who came first and so forth. 

The jury of the event was  Ms. Sheetal – Dance Faculty, GIIS Noida and Ms. Jyoti- Dance Faculty, GIIS Noida who made their judgement on the basis of creativity, choreography, presentation, costume, rhythm and expression. After the bottleneck competition of talent and expressions, results were announced. 

The first position was bagged by Hibiscus House, Chrysanthemum House bagged the Second position and the Third position was bagged by The Sunflower House. The patriotic celebrations culminated with the motivational speech of Principal - Mr. Ganesh Sharma who encouraged children and teachers to participate whole- heartedly in such events.
