Heritage is our pride ; GIISNoida observes Heritage week

To create awareness about the long lost heritage of the country, Global Indian International school, Noida celebrated HERITAGE WEEK by conducting a week full of exciting activities for the students of grades 2-5. The theme was based on exploring Our country –INDIA and World at large. 

The week began with the brief introduction on the Indian Heritage by respective class teachers and followed by a set of exciting activities and competitions. The topic was “MY INDIA MY PRIDE ”-. The students of grade -3 presented facts related to their favourite state of India .They wore beautiful traditional attires of the chosen state and presented various aspects and features of that state like – language, food, music , dance and festivals etc. 

The theme – BHARAT EK KHOZ – was given in the Quiz related to the states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, West Bengal. The topics given for the quiz were Architecture, Ministers, Paintings, Festivals. All the students of grade -4 took part in the preliminary round to give us final participants for the final round of the quiz. A total of three rounds were conducted i.e. 1. Individual round, 2. Buzzer round, 3. Audio – Visual round.

The students of grade-5 explored various monuments of the world through pictures and videos related to various world heritage sites like Nalanda University etc. They prepared a 3 –D model of chosen World heritage sites /Monuments / Wildlife Sanctuaries / National parks like the Eiffel tower, Burj Khalifa, Qutub Minar , India Gate etc. along with a small 2 minutes speak up activity to present their work. Students did a great job while describing various important facts related to the monument chosen by them. Children made handmade models using waste material like empty shoe boxes, coloured paper, etc. 

They gave a creative dimension to the theme by showcasing values, importance of Heritage sites, traditions of India through the speak up activity. Last but not the least, presentations of all the activities done by the students in the Heritage week were displayed by the teachers in their respective classes. These activities not only engaged but also helped them in enhancing their communication, presentation and thinking skills.
