GIIS has always stood out for its zeal to do something different and innovative and the annual day this year was no different. Music, dance and theatrics beautifully melded together as GIIS Noida organized a virtual mega cultural jamboree named UTOPIA to celebrate the academic year 2021-2022 with a lot of aplomb and excitement.

The students of Grade 4 & 5 displayed ‘Revolution - A Graceful Welcome to Change!’. Change is the only constant thing in a human’s life. This makes us surrender to the fact that we’re always evolving and tend to get surprised every time it comes knocking! Much like nature continues to change seasons, shifts will keep happening in our life. Instead of becoming unbreakable and rigid, we’ll eventually get super bendy, like a tree with deep roots and branches that bend and flap in the wind. The theme intended to showcase the acceptance of our young generation and their ability to bring about the change by revolting against the ill-will & adverse circumstances.

The celebrations started with virtually welcoming all followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and a melodious welcome song to fill the atmosphere with positivity. The Principal, Mr. Ganesh Sharma, addressed the august gathering and welcomed the guests with a token of appreciation. He further highlighted the growth and achievements of the students and teachers. Thereafter, the students were further appreciated and motivated by video messages from Director Operations, GIIS India - Mr. Rajiv Bansal, National Academic Head, India – Ms. Sunita Jaisingh and Head, Co-Scholastic & GMP, India - Ms. Vaishali Borde.

He is a second generation author, who wrote his first book, Pure Evil, The Batman of Bollywood and has also co-authored the National Award winning book - RD Burman - The Man, The Music. He also addressed the gathering and motivated the students with is inspirational and encouraging words.

The Annual presentation began with a foot tapping welcome dance that enthralled all followed by an inspiring story of transformation and determination to live that was unfolded by three students of Public Speaking Club. The story focused on the Eagle’s extraordinary power to go through a painful process of change in order to live longer.

The event that was woven around the thread of ‘Change’, and had several mesmerizing performances by the students of Dance, Cooking without Fire, Yoga, Art & Craft, IT, Drawing & Painting and Aryabhatta Club flowing through the central narrative. Their infectious energy was met by thunderous applause and appreciation by the virtual audience.

The value of change was also presented through a mime act performed by Public Speaking Club. The students represented the transformation from a traditional offline classroom to virtual classroom. Our little munchkins also decked up and performed advertisements to ensure the best of entertainment for the audience. It was indeed a great, vibrant event.

Ms. Tapasya Dixit, the Primary Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to the dignitaries for having graced the occasion. She also thanked the management, teachers and parents for guiding the students on this beautiful journey.

Through this virtual annual day presentation, the students truly proved that there are no limits, they will reach for the sky. For them, no valley is too deep, no mountain too high!
