GMP Virtual Global Connect Series- GIIS Noida and East Coast students collaborate to learn from each other

The GMP Virtual Global Connect Series between Kindergarten students of GIIS NOIDA and GIIS EAST COAST, Singapore gave the students an opportunity to share and express their learning experiences on the topic Plants- My Green Friends. The young learners from both the campuses interacted effectively with each other. They became part of the global community by sharing knowledge, understanding different culture and values. It boosted their confidence, language skills and communication.

The programme began with Ms. Rachna Jain (Headmistress, Noida) welcoming the GIIS East Coast students, followed by a live presentation on topic ‘Plants – My Green friends’ by K2 students of GIIS Noida. The children were dressed up according to theme with virtual backgrounds / real plants setup i.e. that complemented their performance. Students talked about various aspect of plants like its parts, stem, roots, leaves, flower, fruits, why we need them and how we should care for them like our very own. This was followed by a beautiful dance performance on “The Planting Song” by eight students on the virtual mode.

As the event progressed, students discussed about various types of plants, herbs, and even shared some amazing facts about them. Children demonstrated the use of plants and how they provide us with oxygen to breathe and also keep the air fresh and clean. The presentation ended with the quote- “Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago”.

Students were engaged in a brain storming quiz session where GIIS Noida students asked multiple choice questions to GIIS East coast students who very enthusiastically and promptly answered them all. It was a great interaction between the students of both the campuses as they had lots fun while interacting and learning from each other.

GMP Virtual Global connect series was organized for two days; the next day was hosted by GIIS East Coast students on the topic - fruits and vegetables.

The objective of organizing such events for the students is to make them familiar with fellow students across countries and learn more about their habits, society and culture. It not only helps them in becoming confident but also improves their vocabulary and dialogue delivery.
