GIIS Noida Yearbook 2022-23: Pre-Primary

Pre-primary students donated basic medications, juice, and dry fruits for underprivileged individuals as well as to those in need. The aim was to educate students about their role and contribution

Kitchen Garden

“Eat what you grow, grow what you eat”

 Growing plants that can be used frequently in the kitchen, such as coriander, spinach, tomatoes, radishes, carrots, and chilies, is a new effort by the GIIS Pre-Primary Wing. We introduced youngsters to nature through this effort.

Butterfly Gardening

A participatory educational project to create environmental awareness among school children by setting up a mini butterfly garden in the premises.  Some Nectaring plants (like lantana, marigold, Lxora, rose, hibiscus etc.) have also planted by the students of pre-primary wing for attracting butterflies.

Annual day

The tiny tots of the pre-primary wing put up an exhilarating Annual Show OORJA. Children presented the story of "The Wizard of AquOz “which is a tale of a young girl named Dorothy and her pet Toto, who get transported into the magical world when their boat is swallowed by the spinning tornado of water.

 Grandparents Day- Grandparents Day was observed to express gratitude to all of lovable grandparents for their unwavering support, warmth, and love. Children and grandparents were engaged in games, horseback riding, and flower-making activities.

Adventure camp for the little stars of GIIS Noida was a great way of indulging children in some experiential learning. The activities conducted offered a positive and safe environment where children could gain confidence and self-esteem.

Sports Day- When it comes to the all-around development of our kids, sports play a crucial role. This year’s celebrations were themed around Indigenous Sports. Students dressed in colorful t-shirts and participated in various country races, presented various drills based on the theme, and watched their friends cheer for their win.

Van Mahotsav Every year in July, we at GIIS Noida celebrate along with the nation of India - the festival of planting trees. Students planted trees in the school ground and learned the value of trees in our daily lives.

Monsoon Day- Monsoons are always fun and a welcome change after the sweltering heat. It is a magical time of the year with the beautiful rain and cool weather. The students of pre-primary came armed with raincoats, umbrellas and their favorite snack. With lots of fun and frolic they enjoyed participating in the umbrella dance.

Happiness week- Being grateful and appreciating all the people who make our lives easy is done by practicing gratitude. Pre-primary students created cards to express their gratitude to the entire school staff including didis, support staff, guards, etc.

Children’s Day- A day marking childhood, GIIS Noida Pre-Primary wing celebrated Children’s Day with supreme enthusiasm and zeal in the MPH that had teachers putting up a special program for their beloved students.

Mother’s Day- Students were engaged in a special virtual celebration on Mother’s Day; teachers made earnest efforts of instilling the importance of mother in a child’s life through effective thematic presentations and video clippings.

Healthy Diet Healthy Life

K2 students took part in a special assembly where they discussed food. Food is a necessary source of energy for all people, whether they are young or old, wealthy or impoverished. Living without food is not feasible. The objective was to encourage our kids to eat nutritious food.

Achievements

Inter school Show and Tell Competition –“DigiGnome”

For Kindergarten, a virtual interschool show and tell competition was established to inspire our young students to talk on a virtual stage with confidence, clarity, actions and expressions, voice modulation, and using their props in the best and most inventive way. The theme-appropriate attire was worn by the kids, with teachers and parents preparing the competition's props with imagination and creativity.

Inter school rhyme Recitation Competition

A virtual Inter school rhyme recitation competition was organized to encourage our young learners to recite a rhyme with creativity and fluency. 5 students from each Campus presented rhyme virtually without any support and prompting from the parents.

Inter-GIIS Quiz Competition

The event was conducted by the school’s quiz team to encourage students to gain general knowledge apart from subject knowledge.

GIIS Noida is proud to have another feather in the cap. Our students, Tarusha Joshi & Raghav Kandwal, bag 1st and 2nd positions in the GMP Inter Campus Storytelling Competition.
