GIIS Noida students attended live screening of Leadership Lecture series by Indian Music composer Sheykhar Ravjiani

“Music is very spiritual; it has the power to bring people together.” — Edgar Winter

Eminent Singer, Music Composer & Mentor - Sheykhar Ravjiani joined us to be a part of the Leadership Lecture Series that was aimed at creating some real positive impact, in the musical way. In this session, Mr. Ravjiani visited the GIIS Dubai Campus to share his life lessons and experiences with students. Special arrangements were made for the musical geniuses of GIIS Noida who witnessed the live screening of the event at the school campus.

The musical rendezvous began with a beautiful song of Mr. Sheyhkar sung by the students of GIIS, Dubai in their most melodious avatar. Blessings of almighty were invoked with a prayer which was followed by the Principal, GIIS, Dubai - Mr. Antony Koshy extending a formal welcome to everyone present and witnessing the event.  It was a treat to witness the Indian singer, music director, composer, actor, producer, Mr. Ravjiani interacting with the students of the Dubai campus; the session even helped our students in knowing things that helped Sheykhar in becoming a well-known name today.

After the formal welcome of all the dignitaries present, a beautiful medley of Sheykhar’s songs was presented by the Abu Dhabi school choir. The rendition was specially prepared, presented and exclusively dedicated to Mr. Ravjiani.

Mr. Sheykhar Ravjiani while addressing the gathering advised the students to always keep smiling. He appreciated all the children who lit up the stage with absolute confidence and grace. Following his address, a small interactive session was organized for the students of the Dubai campus to interact with the maestro and asked various questions on his life and career. Mr. Ravjiani gave a detailed description of his family background. He told the students that even though he belonged to a business family, his parents always supported his love for music as they themselves had immense love and liking towards it which inspired him to learn music and pursue it as his career.

He loved music since childhood. At the age of 16 he went to SA RE GA MA PA (music show on Zee TV) to support a friend where he himself gave audition and got selected; he got out in the third round. Years later he came back to the show as a judge and has done that for 5 times over these years. This is how his dedication and passion got him to place where he once entered as a participation.

With his inspirational stories and experiences, he motivated children to not let failures dampen their spirits or dishearten their dreams. Rather they must take up that failure as another chance to push themselves and give their best. Children felt extremely happy and inspired after talking to him as  he very patiently and politely answered all the questions posed by the students of GIIS Dubai.

The key take away from the lecture series was to Never stop learning and to never give up. According to Mr. Ravjiani, this mantra has kept him going for so many years.  He has done seven grades of Piano and is still continuing his learning for the advance levels. For him, there is no age for learning. He has been in the profession for last 25 years and believes there is so much more to learn.
