GIIS Noida immerses in literary splendour on Shakespeare Day

On April 23rd, the Middle Segment of Global Indian International School, Noida (Grade 6 to 8) celebrated Shakespeare Day to honour the life and works of one of the most influential authors in the history of literature -  William Shakespeare. He revolutionised language with his lyrical writing style, creating some of the most iconic phrases ever uttered.

William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer and the world's pre-eminent dramatist who left an indelible impact on the English language with his insurmountable contribution to the field of literature. The passion in Shakespeare's writing never fails to move the readers. The Bard wrote 37 plays and 154 sonnets and his works are still performed on stage.

We at GIIS enjoyed the day in the best possible way by learning about his incredible life. Talking like his characters, and even trying to dress in attire from that era!

Students of classes 6-8 were given an exciting opportunity to participate in various activities organised as per their grades for their respective grades. One day before, an awareness session on the life and literary work of Shakespeare was taken up by the students of Grade 8 A through PowerPoint presentations.

Students wholeheartedly took part in activities like soliloquy oration, scripting of quotes and depiction of his famous characters. It was a celebration to pay homage to the greatest playwright, William Shakespeare and to get a glimpse of his literary excellence. It surely gave our students a chance to experience and admire the literary excellence of Shakespeare.
