GIIS Noida celebrates Constitution Day to educate students on India’s constitution

Constitution Day is celebrated on November 26 every year as India’s Constituent Assembly formally adopted the supreme legal document on November 26, 1949. It came into effect on January 26, 1950, and is celebrated by every Indian as Republic Day.

Also known as Samvidhan Diwas, the objective of formally celebrating the day was to promote the adoption of constitutional values among the citizens of India.

Students from grades 3-5 of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Noida, observed the ‘National Constitution Day’ with utmost devotion, emotion, and integrity by participating in various activities organized virtually and physically at the campus. Students were sensitized about the importance of the day, the significance of its celebration, and the people who contributed to the development of Indian constitution.

The day provided a perfect opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity, and security of our country. The activity ended with an interactive session, where the students shared and cleared their doubts with the respective teachers.

The objective behind the celebrations was to make students understand the history and the people behind India’s constitution. The activity engaged students holistically as they took a pledge to safeguard their rights, and created a constitution of their own with ideas highlighting their rights and duties as students.
