GIIS Noida bags several accolades at the Inter - GIIS RWCC 2021

It is that time of the year again when our students from all GIIS India campuses come forth to display their outstanding talents and skills and celebrate each other’s expertise and uniqueness by participating in the Real World Challenges Convention (RWCC) which was held virtually for the second time this year.

With a lot of pride and happiness, we share with you all that students from the GIIS Noida campus have done exceptionally well at the RWCC 2021 hosted by the GIIS SMART Campus. Our students have won laurels in several events and proved that excellence knows no bound or age.

Let’s have a look at the events where GIIS Noida students participated and won:

Quality Circle Presentation

Playing online games for a long time creates a negative impact on every child’s academic performance. Lack of concentration becomes an issue for the children who spend more time playing online games. This may even lead to addiction. It takes children away from physical sports and activities which again may lead to various health issues from a young age.

The goal of this year’s quality circle presentation was to research about the negative impact of online games among students and find out the best possible solution (s) to protect them from the negative impact of the same. Our team of five students i.e. Arnav Pandey, Aayushi Sharma, Bhakti Arora, Puronjoy Ghosh and Satti Amukta along with mentors Ms. Roopa Ghosh and Ms. Soma Mukherjee presented their work that was well appreciated and applauded by the judges. Based on the value and authenticity of the work presented, our students were declared second runner’s up (third position) in the middle school category.

In Innovative Social & Commercial Entrepreneurship Challenge

In the ISCEC-Individual category, two students bagged top positions for their outstanding presentation, ideation and execution skills. The top position holders bagged the first and second position respectively; 1st position was bagged by Ekantika of grade 10th for her project titled “Humble – a charitable subscription box enterprise” followed by Vedanshi Rathore of grade 10 secured second position for her project on “Food Waste Management”.

Our students also bagged the first position in the senior category of the innovative social & commercial entrepreneurship challenge. The topic of their project was “Leaf it to Us” which gave them an opportunity to improve and enhance their creative skills and be able to work in a team with complete coordination.

The idea was to engage students in brainstorming and finding solutions to problems that are present in the world around us. The solutions that were offered by the students were practical and sustainable, which is the ultimate goal of every venture today.

Transformation Turncoat – Individual Category

Sneha Verma from grade 8 made us proud by winning the 2nd position in the transformation turncoat event of the RWCC 2021- individual category. The topic of the turncoat was given fifteen minutes before the actual beginning of the event. All the participants were required to upload their entries beforehand to ensure complete authentication.

The topic given to Sneha was “Empathy” on which she has to write and submit her points before speaking on the topic. She spoke her heart out for two minutes straight in which she talked in favour for the first minute, and against the topic in the next.

Our students also won in the Adzapp event – Middle school category where they created a logo on the 'Rise as Leaders for tomorrow' by using the Canva tool and Ibis paint. Students had a fun time and learned about teamwork as they created something creative and extraordinary.

Next event was OPUS for RISE – upper primary category. Five of our students namely Aryaman Chabra, Trisha Singh, Agamya Dak, Ananya Singh, and Delisha Ahlawat made us proud once again by winning the 2nd position in the RWCC event. Our students along with the school music teacher created a self-composed musical piece that won laurels for us at this international inter-GIIS competition.  The effective and consistent efforts that were put in by the Mentors and disciples through online classes, extra classes, after school, one on one classes enhanced the students’ confidence and enthusiasm and really helped in presenting on the day. Each student presenting on the finale of the competition wore a lotus badge which they handcrafted to portray Leaders of Tomorrow that was the base theme of the event.

The RWCC is a unique global platform that motivates young minds of GIIS to network with a host of people and address the problems of today. They are encouraged to research on their chosen topic, find solutions, and present the process.

GIIS RWCC aims at bringing together GIIS schools from Singapore and other Asian countries to celebrate creativity which is also sustained in both teaching and learning. The theme of this year's event was RISE as Leaders of Tomorrow – Demonstrating Respect, Integrity, Skill, Empathy to be Leaders of tomorrow.

We congratulate all the winners for shining bright at such a gigantic event. All these wins are an example of the hard work and determination that has been put in by our students and teachers.

Kudos once again!!
