Garvit and Anany make it big at the UP State Rating Chess Tournament

Chess is an ancient game that has been enjoyed for centuries, known for its strategic and mind-bending gameplay. GIIS Noida, recognizing the benefits of chess, has been encouraging its students to learn and play this game, and their efforts have been paying off.

We are happy to share that two young chess players from GIIS Noida made their school proud by securing top positions at the UP State Rating Inter School Chess Tournament held at the Bloom International School, Greater Noida. Garvit Jain and Anany Shrivastava displayed their exceptional chess skills and clinched the first and third positions in the Under-9 and Under-19 category respectively.

Garvit Jain, a star chess player of GIIS Noida, has been winning multiple chess tournaments over the years. He is passionate about the game and is always eager to learn new concepts and techniques that can improve his performance and strategic decisions. Garvit's dedication and hard work have paid off, and he has been able to showcase his talents on a bigger platform.

Anany Shrivastava is an outstanding player who learned and practiced the game at GIIS Noida itself. He developed an interest in chess during the lockdown and found an everlasting connection with the game. Whatever he has learned up till now is from the school coaches who have been mentoring and encouraging him to play and perform his best. Anany's success at the tournament is a testament to his hard work and dedication towards the game.
