Educators' Conclave: Future-Ready Schools- A Step-Up for a Sustainable Planet.

GIIS Noida&rsquo;s school faculty got an amazing opportunity of being a part of the exclusive Educator&rsquo;s Conclave on the topic Future Ready Schools- A step up for a sustainable planet. Ms. Madhuri Kaw (Coordinator, Middle School) and Ms. Neelam (TGT Science) represented GIIS Noida at this noted event. The event was held at the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Center in The Lodhi Estate.

The Educators conclave was conducted primarily focusing on the ways which can be adopted by schools through in-house practices for sustainable development. About 30 school principals and school teachers from Delhi Ncr and nearby cities attended the conclave.&nbsp;

The event started with brief introduction of one planet academy and how it came into action. Historical background was also shared regarding how our country pioneered through its initiatives in introducing Environmental Science as a subject in school curriculum. The invited faculty members were then taken on a round of the auditorium to witness and discuss the display on raptors.

Mr. Nitin John &ndash; a well-known wildlife photographer shared some amazing and new facts on the birds that belong to the raptor family. It was quite an insightful session as the audience got to hear his wildlife photography experiences. As the day progressed, the invited faculties were taken around the Lodhi garden for a nature walk where the guests could spot some kites, eagles of the raptor family, birds like Indian Maina, etc. which are very hard to find nowdays.

The Nature Walk was successful in giving the invited faculty some calm time and a day off their busy schedules. Post the nature walk and scrumptious breakfast, each of the faculty member were engaged in several brainstorming sessions with the invited guest speakers.

The conclave addressed several measures which could be adopted at school level in order to make it a Green school. The groups then did presentations on the topic-&nbsp;Future-Ready Schools: A Step-Up for a Sustainable Planet.&nbsp;&nbsp;The conclave was a great platform to exchange ideas like being a solar powered future school, adopting local gardens to increase the green footprint on mother earth etc.
