“Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honor for me. “

The above-mentioned lines have been said by A.P.J Abdul Kalam and Ms. Vaishali Singh - TGT, Social Science of GIIS Noida follows the same approach while teaching her students. She believes that if the teacher is loving and bonds well with their students, the process of teaching and learning automatically becomes easy and enjoyable for both entities. 

Teaching for Ms. Singh is beyond just sharing of knowledge. For her, it’s also about building of an atmosphere where students can share and grow without the fear of being judged or misinterpreted. Not just that, she is known for her positive attitude and ability to accomplish the unthinkable with her hard work and earnest efforts. She has been with GIIS for the past five years and heads the INTACH team who has won numerous awards and laurels under her aegis.  

She has a number of certifications to her credit and has also been instrumental in bringing many impactful changes in the implementation of various path-breaking projects at school. Besides teaching, she has performed numerous roles that have benefitted the students manifolds:

• Council Mistress - She heads the school council and is responsible for conducting council elections, allocation of duties to student council members in different events in school, etc.

• INTACH in-charge: Under her able leadership, students have won numerous awards in different categories in the past five years of her tenure so far.

• Head - KARO SAMBHAV (Senior wing) - Karo Sambhav is an initiative taken by the school authorities for proper E-Waste Management. With her outstanding contribution and support, the school has been awarded for the Best usage of Kit and the maximum number of activities performed in school.

• HOD Social Science- She also heads the social science department of the school and is responsible for supervising all the subject-related activities, guiding teachers for making of broad plans, blueprints, question papers, keeping track on assignments and worksheets, regular meetings supporting teachers, etc. 

• Employee of the month: For her outstanding work and contribution, Ms. Vaishali has been awarded the Employee of the Month award twice in the same year, during the 2020-21 Academic session.

For her outstanding contribution throughout the years, Ms. Vaishali has also been awarded the Extra Mile Award at the GIIS Annual Awards ceremony that was held in December 2020 to recognize employees who have given their heart and soul in providing the best of education and services to the students and patrons across GIIS India campuses. 

Applauding her efforts, Ms. Madhuri Kaw - Academic Co-ordinator, Secondary Wing said - “Ms. Vaishali, with her innovative approach, makes social science classes interesting for her students. She shares a good rapport with the students and is actively engaged in extracurricular activities at school. Under her guidance and mentorship, students have brought laurels for school in many Inter-school events.”

Sharing her vision as a teacher, Ms. Singh wishes to help her students obtain necessary skills that help them in leading a happy life, and become successful in whatever they take up. Her mission is to instill a strong belief of self among her students and encourage them to achieve the impossible without being subdued by the fear of failure.
