Accomplishments, growth and success summed up the month of November at GIIS Noida

Dear Parents,

Namaste!

November is over and we are all set to welcome the new year with new hopes and dreams to achieve. As we move forth to the last stretch of this academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for being there with us through thick and thin. The last few months were a little different, but I am glad that we all sailed through smoothly by adapting and reinventing our ways that focus on creating and maintaining the safety and security of the GIIS Noida community.

We conducted several activities that were well planned and thought through. We began with celebrating Indian festivals like Deepawali and Bhai Dooj that taught our students to remain rooted to their traditions and values. Then we also celebrated Children’s day which was one of the most exhilarating celebrations that were held in the campus post the pandemic. Students got to revisit the life and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak during Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations.

Besides these, students gained skills and knowledge by participating in several, Thinking Thursdays, Math Magic activities, i-Care programs, etc. that built their overall skills and enhanced their holistic temperament. We also hosted an inter-school story-telling and rhyme competition – Expressions that saw participation from several prestigious schools of Delhi/NCR.

On the achievement front, November was a month of continuous celebrations that were brought in by our students from all three segments. Kimaya Chahar, a pre-primary student, won 1st prize at the inter-school Storytelling competition hosted by Lotus Valley School. Shravil Shaklaya, student of grade 9, made us proud by winning the Valley of Words – National Debate competition organized by the Oak Groove school, Mussorrie. In Sports, four girls from the middle school bagged several medals at the Seventh District Gautam Buddh RollerSports Championship, 2021. Our badminton star, Advit Bhargava participated and won the runners-up trophy along with a cash prize at the Transform Delhi State Ranking Badminton Championship-2021. Following his footsteps, an emerging badminton enthusiast of the Noida campus, Naina Chauhan of grade 9 also bagged the 2nd position, medal, and a cash prize.

Apart from the regular activities and events, we conducted a webinar on Hybrid learning and teaching that discussed the future of education. The objective was to present and discuss various benefits and shortcomings of the newly introduced education model adopted by the schools and colleges worldwide.

Besides the activities, we completed the second round of assessments, term exams, and tests for the middle and senior students. Grade 10 and 12 students, after a gap of two years, appeared offline for their pre-boards in the campus. They will now soon be giving their boards exam are set to begin in the first week of December.

Lastly, before I conclude, I would like to wish my students, especially grade 10 and 12 students, all the very best for their upcoming exams. I am sure that each one of them is preparing hard and are going to get great results.

Thank you,

Have a great day.
