
GIIS KL auditorium came alive with energetic performances during the recently concluded Inter-House Dance Competition held for students of standards 6-8. The competition, which aligns perfectly with our 9GEMS; Universal Values and Ethics (Gem 7) and Community and Care (Gem 8). Such activity also promotes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), with enthusiastic participation from students across houses.
Following auditions featuring modern and folk dance routines, the competition finals focused on the dynamic energy of Hip-Hop. Students, divided by grade and sports house, impressed the audience with their coordinated moves, creative formations, and captivating expressions. The two-minute performances adhered to a strict time limit, keeping the energy high throughout the event.
The competition was judged by external professionals, ensuring a fair and objective evaluation based on a set of well-defined criteria: expression, rhythm, energy, formation synchronization, and overall creativity.
Orchid House emerged victorious, with Grace Mary Abraham and Shreyas Alluru securing the first and second positions, respectively. Samriddhi Srivastav from Chrysanthemum House took the third position.
The Inter-House Dance Competition provided a platform for students to showcase their talents, collaborate with peers, and build a stronger school community. The focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition fostered a positive learning environment that went beyond the dance steps.
