Kula Lumpur 21 Jun 2020: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anasuya Jegathevi Jegathesen, a licensed and registered counsellor and the Programme Director of psychology department at the Taylor’s university, addressed the students of GIIS on 19th June 2020, on a virtual platform, to have an interactive session on mental health during this pandemic.
This was the first session of the JAM talk series initiated by JA Malaysia. Dr. Anasuya shared life lessons and gave students advices on how to overcome and deal with depression, stress and other psychological traumas especially during this prolonged period of lockdown.
She motivated the students and taught them about how to deal with bullying and the emotions that young students usually go through. She not only gave good solutions to all the questions that the students asked but also praised the quality of the questions asked by the students. It was a gratifying, entertaining and helpful session for the students. The organizer remarked- “Thanks so much for your students’ support. They were the main lively bunch that generated the comments and created the opportunity for the speaker to address current issues”.
