KUALA LUMPUR, 19 OCTOBER, 2018 - Global Indian International School believes in holistic learning and educating our young minds to face the real world. We believe that health and wellbeing go hand in hand. Hence, we had the privilege of inviting Dr Lina Lawrence, MBBS who educated our young girls about puberty and personal hygiene.
Dr Lina Lawrence visited the GIIS Cambridge Kuala Lumpur Campus on 19th October 2018 and gave a talk in the Seminar Room which was attended by the girls aged 10-15 of the Cambridge Campus.
The informative talk "The Changing Me- What’s happening" was an eye opener for the young girls. Dr Lina then educated the girls with a power point presentation on the topic "Puberty Education and Menstrual Hygiene Management". Many a times, young girls enter the stage of puberty highly unprepared. They feel overwhelmed when their body goes through multiple changes and this talk was beneficial to these young budding girls of the future.
The girls then had a 'Question and Answer session' with Dr Lina Lawrence and she answered all the queries with great ease. Girls realised that taking good care of themselves is an integral part of growing up. Personal hygiene includes learning how to stay healthy, groom yourself well periodically and how to keep clean and maintain cleanliness too. It was indeed an important and knowledgeable session that would help the girls in the long run.
