On 31st July, 2023 the enthusiasm and excitement knew no bounds as the students of class 6 CBSE boarded the buses from GIISKL to visit Petrosains, Kuala Lumpur.
Owing to the virtual mode of teaching in the recent past, students were deprived of an outing, which would be both informative and interactive. This trip was surely the need of the hour for these young minds and it certainly set the fire to ignite a passion for learning, curiosity, and exploration, setting the stage for a future of intellectual growth and discovery.
The adventure commenced with a tour of interactive exhibits. From microscopic to cosmic, mesmerizing world of holograms, enthralling space concepts, robotic science – this discovery centre brought science to life for these young scholars. The displays on fossils, geology and seismology were another major attraction, which nurtured these young minds by providing them with food for thought.
The icing on the cake was the 3-D life size working model of dinosaurs, which is a part of the Geotime Diorama exhibition and attracted one and all present there. Situated on the 4th floor of Suria KLCC, the centre provided a captivating encounter for the students through a 3-D film conveying a powerful message about the effects of oil pollution in the oceans. The visit also emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable practices, fostering a sense of responsibility among the young learners.
Students were provided refreshments and were allowed to purchase souvenirs. With minds buzzing and hearts brimming with newfound knowledge, Class 6 returned from Petrosains with cherished memories and a deep appreciation for the marvels of science.
