
On November 1, 2023, Global Indian International School (GIIS) KL commemorated World Vegan Day. The diligent Sustainable Club Team meticulously orchestrated the event, featuring an array of engaging activities such as Slogan writing, Awareness Campaigns, vibrant poster designing, and savoring delectable vegan delicacies. The day commenced with a thought-provoking morning Assembly, graced by a poignant skit performed by Grade 11 students, mentored by Ms. Kalyani.
Our school marked World Vegan Day with an exuberant display, aiming to educate students about the manifold advantages of veganism. The focus was on advocating a plant-based diet to foster environmental sustainability, prioritize animal welfare, and enhance personal health. We leveraged social media platforms to share compelling posters, amplifying our message to a broader audience within the GIIS community.
A highlight of the event was the art and poster contests, where participants explored themes related to veganism, sustainability, and animal rights, fostering creativity across the school. Encouraging student involvement, we prompted them to opt for vegan meals, foster discussions on the benefits of plant-based diets, and exchange their own experiences with veganism.
Members of the SDG Club embarked on a classroom-to-classroom initiative, fostering awareness about the importance of compassion and empathy towards animals. A visual chronicle of the day captured the fervor and engagement of the students. The activity served as a platform for students to delve into the realm of eco-conscious endeavors, community engagement, and resource conservation, aligning with our ethos of nurturing emotional and spiritual well-being through the Gem 8 value of "Community and Care."
The entire school community enthusiastically participated in the promotion of Veganism, echoing the motto, "Celebrate Compassion, Choose Kindness, and Stay Healthy."
