Edward Everett Hale rightly said "Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success".
GIIS Cambridge campus conducted the Mid Term exams in November. Students toiled hard for the exams and were in a need to de-stress. The teachers organized, for the first time a "GIIS INTER HOUSE TEAM BUILDING CARNIVAL" to foster team spirit among the students. The activities were conducted in the basketball court on 28th November, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Team sports are good for learning accountability, teamwork, dedication and to hone leadership skills among students. The primary school and secondary school level students demonstrated some impressive teamwork and co-ordination as they dribbled and passed the ball to their teammates to score for their home team. The activities such as passing the ball backwards, jumping through the Hoola hoop, blowing the ping-pong ball, passing the ball with hockey sticks and filling the beaker with water were a treat to watch as the students put in their best effort to score points for their house. The house members enjoyed cheering for their teams.
We have four houses at GIIS, Orchid, Hibiscus, Sunflower and Chrysanthemum. Icebreakers and activities help students to relax, enjoy and be challenged. We are all aware that team sports play a key role in well rounded development of a child.
