Advik Shines at Central Region Tennis Tournament, Earns Spot in Nationals

Advik, our Cambridge Year 3 student, recently represented Kuala Lumpur at the Central Region Tennis Tournament (KL/Selangor/Perak/Putrajaya) organized by the Malaysia Tennis Association. This annual tournament serves as a vital development program for junior tennis players.

Ranked number one in Tennis KL State, Advik was among the few invited to compete in the Central Region. The tournament, held from May 31st to June 2nd at the Tennis Malaysia Association in Jalan Duta Tennis Court, saw Advik battling it out with the best players from four central states - KL, Selangor, Perak, and Putrajaya.

Advik's dedication and skills shone brightly as he secured a commendable Bronze medal at the Central Region Tournament. This impressive performance earned him a well-deserved spot at the upcoming Tennis Malaysia National Tournament.

The tournament embodies the spirit of several GIIS 9GEMS Goals, such as Sports Excellence (Gem 2) and Skill Development (Gem 9). It also serves the UN's Sustainable Development Goal SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.

Advik's journey is an inspiration to his peers. His journey from ranking first in KL State to competing at the Central Region level and qualifying for Nationals exemplifies the rewarding outcomes of hard work and dedication.
