The school year kicked off with a burst of excitement as students from all grades gathered in the school assembly ground on April 29th for the Student Election Council Campaigning. The air was filled with anticipation as candidates introduced themselves and their platforms for various leadership roles.
From school captains and vice-captains to house prefects and class representatives, students vied for positions that would allow them to contribute to the school community. The event was a chance for students to learn about their peers' aspirations and visions for the school.
The GIIS KL community came together again recently, on August 16th, to celebrate the Investiture Ceremony of the newly elected student council members for the 2024-25 academic year. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Amrita Dash, Counsellor at the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur.
The ceremony was a grand affair, filled with pomp and circumstance. Drummers led the procession of students to the assembly ground, where they were sworn in to their new roles. As the ceremony was about to reach its climax, a sudden downpour forced everyone to seek shelter in the auditorium. However, the spirit of the students remained undeterred. Their enthusiasm and determination were as loud as the thunder that echoed through the hall.
The chief guest delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging the new leaders to use their positions to make a positive impact on the school community.
The new student council members are excited to take on their responsibilities and make a positive impact on the school community. With their leadership and dedication, GIIS KL is poised for a bright future.
