GIIS Kuala Lumpur Campus wins IMC RBNQ Performance Excellence Trophy 2015

Global Indian International School (GIIS), Kuala Lumpur Campus in Malaysia has been honoured with the IMC RBNQ Performance Excellence Trophy 2015 (Overseas Category) by the Indian Merchants' Chamber in a gala award ceremony held at YB Chavan Auditorium, Mumbai on 4 March 2016. IMC RBNQ Award Trust also bestowed an award on GIIS Kuala Lumpur Campus for the MQH Best Practices Competition 2016 in Overseas Category.

The award is an endorsement of highly commendable academic processes, which have consistently provided the best academic experience and encouraged GIIS students to achieve their best potential. Congratulating the team, Mr Manoj Nair, Country Director at GIIS Malaysia said, "Winning the IMC RB National Quality award has given GIIS Kuala Lumpur Campus outstanding recognition for its educational processes and commitment to ensure success for each child. The entire school team has continued working with dedication towards nurturing the budding student talent with best academic and co-curricular programmes. I congratulate the team of teachers and staff members, students, parents and our support partners for this exceptional achievement."

Expressing his happiness on the win, Mr BG Shenoy, Director of the Global Centre for Education Excellence (GCEE), said, “The award is a testimony for our continuous efforts towards developing and deploying innovative teaching and learning approaches in line with our Vision. This achievement is even more special as it is the first IMC RB National Quality award for GIIS Kuala Lumpur Campus, which not only highlights the strength of academic practices at the campus but also reinforces our focus on imparting quality education across our schools worldwide”.

Commemorating 10 years of GIIS in Malaysia

The recognition by IMC comes in a special year when GIIS is celebrating 10 years since opening its campus at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. “The honour by IMC is a recognition of GIIS’ commitment to education excellence. As we celebrate our decade in Malaysia this year, we rededicate ourselves towards ensuring the best and holistic learning experience for our students,” shared Mr Manish Jain, GIIS Spokesperson.

Other institutions which have also won the prestigious IMC RBNQ Performance Excellence Trophy 2015 include JSW Steel Ltd (Manufacturing), Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd (Services) and UltraTech Cement Limited (Manufacturing).

About IMC RBNQ Award

The IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality (RBNQ) Awards were instituted in 1996 to give special recognition to performance excellence in Indian organisations. The IMC RBNQ Award criteria are similar to the Malcolm Baldrige criteria of USA and follows similar rigorous process of training and evaluation.

IMC RBNQ Award is one of the most prestigious quality awards. The awards were named after the late Ramkrishna Bajaj, past president, IMC, and a leading Indian industrialist. The Overseas category is a newly introduced category that recognises excellence in companies based outside India.

 

About Global Centre for Education Excellence

In April 2008, Global Indian International School instituted Global Centre for Education Excellence (GCEE) with the objective of undertaking continuous enhancement and improvement in the academic and non-academic processes. Working closely with GIIS campuses worldwide, GCEE has put in efforts to set up high standards of achievement, encourage creation of teaching methods that work, and create a system of accountability to measure results.

Using the Malcolm Baldrige framework of standards of excellence across GIIS campuses, GCEE is designing roadmaps for continuous improvement, which in turn contributes to the school's vision of nurturing young minds through holistic education. GCEE has put in concerted efforts to measure and monitor results, set up high standards of achievement, and encourage innovation in teaching and learning processes.
