Arcus - the colours of innocence; GIIS Indore celebrates 6th annual day function

Global Indian International School (GIIS), Indore celebrated its 6th Annual day function on the theme “Arcus - the colours of innocence” at Ravindra Natyagrah Theatre with great exuberance and soul. The stage was set and the spectators (parents) were present to witness their children perform on stage with complete innocence and ebullience.

Gracing the celebration with their esteemed presence were the chief guest - Mr. Ajay Mehra, EPF Commissioner and Mrs. Aryama Sanyal - Director Airport. Accompanying them were Mr. Rajeev Bansal - Director Operations, GIIS and our infrastructure partners Mr. Hemant and Sumit Suri.

The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the esteemed judges and Principal - GIIS Indore. The host for the annual day celebrations of the pre-primary and lower primary was Ms. Runa Vyas - PRT English, GIIS Indore; welcoming the esteemed guests and all the parents to the show, felicitation ceremony was conducted to honour the special invitees and chief guests by Dr. (Capt.) Dinisha Bhardawaj - Principal, GIIS Indore.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ajay Mehra while addressing the spectators shared his family background and the reason that made him successful and helped him in pursuing his career in the Police force. He emphasized on the importance of parents, and how the right guidance by his father and his persistence approach helped him become a great police officer. He motivated and guided the students by sharing words of wisdom and said that one should go ahead in the field which interests them and have the potential.

Adding to his thoughts, Mr. Rajiv Bansal said - “It's a treat to watch the young blood performing on stage with such finesse and artistry. Annual day celebrations for me is a glance to view the school's success in pursuing excellence and witness its remarkable achievements throughout the year. In line with the Nine GEMS holistic teaching methodology, that equips the students to meet the changing needs of the society, the annual function, served as a great platform for students to showcase their talent and to boost their self-confidence. He further added, parents and teachers must work together on children in order to bring out the best in them, making them global citizens of tomorrow."

As the show began, Principal of the school presented the annual year report highlighting year round achievements of the campus and its students, along with the growth school has achieved within last year. The report even highlighted the vision school will carry out its future endeavours for the next academic session in order to achieve greater heights and success.

Beginning the activity part of the evening, Ekdanta Stuti was performed by grade 3 students and was highly appreciated by the chief guest so much that Mr. Ajay Mehra gave a small token of his appreciation to one of the dancers who performed the Stuti (named Shubhika Puranik from grade 3). Setting the excitement in the atmosphere, tiny tots of the school presented a welcome dance leaving everyone in the audience awestruck with their tiny hands and feet dancing on the tunes of instrumental music.

Then was the time to exhibit exceptional talent and skills on the theme Arcus - the thematic show of talent, imagination and organization as each section from the pre-primary wing and Grades 1,2,3 enthralled the audience with colourful dresses and enchanting props. Parents really enjoyed each and every performance presented by students from Jr. Kg, Sr. Kg, grades 1 and 2. Every act highlighted a powerful message like the Sr. Kg act depicted the message of proper garbage disposal and avoiding habits that add to the environment pollution. Likewise each act had a special message for the spectators to imbibe and act upon.

A bonanza of musical performances, orchestra and dances formed the heart of the annual day celebrations. As the day advanced, it was time for the grand finale act which was performed by all the students up till grade 3; icing on the cake was a melodious song performance by Mahi Khandelwal (student of GIIS Indore) who bagged 2nd runners up trophy for the school at the inter-GIIS LEAPS competition.

The musical extravaganza came to an ended as Ms. Saaika Bhatia - Co-ordinator, Pre-Primary presented the vote of thanks followed by the national anthem. It was a day of glitters and sparkles as every students carried with themselves a feeling of happiness and pride, and a beautiful memory to reflect upon for life.
